• How much does the milk service cost?
• Milk is 34p* per carton, paid in 2 or 4 instalments over the school year.
• When do I need to start paying for my child’s milk?
• All children are entitled to free school milk up until their 5th Birthday.
• Why is milk free for children up to the age of 5?
• Due to it’s nutritional benefits, the government set up the Nursery Milk Scheme to allow all children in the UK to receive 189ml of milk per day, up until their 5th Birthday
• I am in receipt of benefits or my child receives free school meals – do I have to pay for their milk once they turn 5?
• If you are in receipt of benefits and your child receives free school meals, you may be entitled to free milk. You will need to speak with your school directly to see if they offer free milk as part of the free school meals.
• Do you supply dairy-free milk alternatives?
• Unfortunately, we are unable to supply dairy free alternatives.
• Is the milk you provide UHT or fresh?
• We supply fresh milk to every setting each week.
• How do I register my child for the School Milk Scheme?
• If you have received a letter from the school with a Child Reference Number, you can go directly to this link to register your child.
• If you have not received a letter and do not have a Child Reference Number, you can use this link to create an account .
• How can I amend my child’s class or school details?
• You can request amendments on your online account, or can email changes to schoolmilkservices@yahoo.co.uk
• Can I cancel my child’s milk subscription if they no longer wish to receive milk?
• Yes, if you wish to cancel the milk subscription, you can request this on your online account, or can email or telephone the office to process this. You will be entitled to a refund of any remaining balance, unless the balance is under £5.00, where we will need to deduct a £2.00 admin fee.
• When I register, how long will it take for my child to start receiving their milk at school?
• If you register before a Wednesday, you child’s milk will start on the following Monday. If you register after Wednesday, it will start the Monday after next.
• Do you let the school know that I’ve registered my child?
• Yes, we send monthly class lists to every school, alongside weekly amendments if we have new additions or cancellations.
• I’ve registered and paid for the School Milk Scheme, but my child is not receiving their milk – what can I do?
• If you get in touch with us via telephone or email, we can check to ensure there are no issues and re-send a class list to the school to ensure they are distributing the milk to your child.
